Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched the Toyota Hilux Black Edition in India at a starting price of Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This all-new variant comes with cosmetic changes and gives it a new look over the regular Hilux. The company showcased this variant at the Auto Expo 2025 under the Bharat Mobility Expo. Now, it has finally been launched in India. However, this variant will only be available with an automatic transmission. Also, it is priced similarly to the regular automatic version of the SUV. The main highlights of this edition are its blacked-out front grille, exterior ORVMs, door handles, footsteps, and alloy wheels.

Exterior
The Toyota Hilux Black Edition will be available only in one variant, i.e., Black Edition AT, based on the regular High Automatic Variant. The all-new edition looks very muscular and premium from the outside with blacked-out alloy wheels, a big black-colored prominent front grille, black elements, and a chrome finish bumper at the rear.
At the front, it features dusk-sensing LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and integrated LED turn indicators. The side look feels bold and muscular with 18-inch black alloy wheels, black footsteps, ORVMs, and door handles. The rear has combination LED tail lights and a painted big Toyota lettering at the tailgate. Toyota has also provided a stop lamp at the tailgate and a chrome finish boot handle.
Interior
The interior has no changes; it continues to come with the all-black cabin as the regular Hilux. It has black seats with leather upholstery and electrical adjustments. There are some piano black finish elements in the dashboard and a black center console with an armrest. It comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt & telescopic adjustments, cruise controls, and media control buttons. The rear seat comes with a 60:40 split option.
Safety and Features
The Hilux comes with a digital MID with an analogue dial instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 6-speaker setup, and all windows with a one-touch auto up/down feature. The company has also provided a cooled glove box to keep your beverages and stuff cool. It features a dual-zone automatic climate control air-conditioner, rear AC vents, rear camera, auto-fold ORVMs, and heat rejection glass. It also has connected car features to control the car from your smartphone and smartwatch.
Off-road and safety features include an electronic differential lock, electronic 2WD/4WD control, traction control, downhill assist control, and 4WD with H4 and L4 range. It is equipped with 7 airbags, TPMS, speed auto lock, hill assist control, vehicle stability control, and more.
Engine
The Toyota Hilux Black Edition comes with a 2.8-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged BS6 diesel engine. It’s a 2,755cc engine that produces 201 bhp of power @ 3,400 rpm and 500 Nm of torque @ 2,800 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift plus shift lock. It has two driving modes: Eco and Power.

The Toyota Hilux Black Edition is priced at Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available only in one variant, High AT, with an automatic transmission only. It comes with a same price tag as the top variant of the regular Hilux. The bookings have already started, and deliveries will begin soon. It rivals the Isuzu V-Cross in the Indian market.
